HUMM (Horizons Unlimited Mountain Madness) - Panorama, BC

We're headed to Panorama, BC for North America's first HUMM (Horizons Unlimited Mountain Madness) navigation rally July 22-24! For several years HUMM events have been held in Europe and Africa. This is a unique event where teams of 2-4 riders navigate to predetermined locations and collect points along the way. Each team is given a book of way points they can travel to, the farther and the harder the locations the more points they are worth. Each team decides which locations they want to go to and in what order so everyone will be on their own rather than following other groups in a dust cloud. At the end of the weekend the teams with the most points win. There are single and multi cylinder classes as well as map and GPS classes.

We've assembled a very capable team of riders: Matt Wareing on his highly modified BMW F800gs was one of my teammates on the 2014 Canadian BMW GS Trophy team. Adrian Tobler, also on a BMW F800gs was GS Trophy Team Canada member in 2012 in Chile and Argentina. Matt, Adrian and I completed at the Desert 100 race this April in Odessa, Washington and placed 7th, 8th and 9th in the ADV class. Rounding out our HUMM team is Tom Kelly on a KTM 950 Super Enduro. Tom is a hare scramble/cross country racer and a regular podium finisher.

I believe we have the longest and most ridiculous team name ever: "A farmer, a welder, a bouncer and chiropractor walk into a bar..." This should be a very entertaining weekend!
