The Yamaha 700 Tenere is a dream off-road machine, but its stock exhaust? That’s another story. It’s a bit of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation: the exhaust sounds amazing, but it’s low, wide, and vulnerable. The long, low-mounted OEM muffler hanger is prone to bending when you drop the bike on the right side. This can push the muffler into the swingarm, causing serious damage. If left unchecked, the aluminum swingarm gets chewed up by the steel muffler, and repeated bending can even crack the hanger at the subframe.

After experiencing this firsthand, we created a high exhaust system to raise the muffler out of harm’s way, tucking it closer to the bike’s centerline. Our design includes a new link pipe and a shorter bracket, drastically reducing the leverage on the exhaust hanger by 50% – making it far less likely to bend in a fall.

• CNC billet 6061 aluminum clamp, this patent-pending mounting bracket is simple to install and reduces the exhaust hanger length, minimizing leverage by about 50%.

Update: Our standard mufflers are back in stock! These new versions feature a robust stainless steel body with a black painted end cap, replacing the previous carbon fiber design. They sound fantastic, are incredibly durable, and attach with a clamp instead of springs.

Important Compatibility Notes:
- The OEM and Akrapovic mufflers are not compatible with this kit.
- Yamaha's GYTR rear fuel tanks are not compatible with this kit.

You can run an open aftermarket header as long as it has the same outlet diameter as the OEM. Some brands, like Akrapovic and Scorpion, have a different outlet size, and they are not compatible with other link pipes (like ours). Dominator and Leo Vince headers are compatible with our high exhaust set-up.

If you’re ordering a kit without a muffler: consider pairing it with a Black Widow SC30H or UN30H. We’ve also found Max Torque Cans to be a great fit with our kit.
