The Gen 2 Gut Guard delivers the same top-level protection as the original, now with optional aluminum fuel tank lobe protectors for insane durability. This beast of a skid plate is designed to handle the gnarliest trails with ease! Please note: the tank lobe protectors are not compatible with the Norden 901, but they are available separately and fit the Gen 1 Gut Guard skid plate.

Made from rugged 3/16" (4.75mm) aluminum, this skid plate is ready to take the hits. With welded joints inside and out, and a sleek powder-coated finish, it’s as durable as it is stylish. For ultimate strength, the rear of the plate attaches with a heavy-duty stainless steel bracket that mounts directly to the frame, giving your engine the best protection on the market.

Why You Need the Lobe Protectors

For 2023-up KTM 790/890 ADV bikes, which don’t come with removable OEM tank lobe protectors like the 2019-2022 models, you’ll need our lobe protectors for full coverage. With this extra armor, your bike is ready to face any challenge.

Every KTM Adventure Bike Rider Should Install These.

I agree that the KTM tank lobes are nearly indestructible, but frame mounts and not. On a recent trip to Utah I hit a good size embedded rock and bent the front frame mount pushing the tank about 1.3cm (.5”) back. Repairs required removing tank and bending the bracket. However, the impact also broke the nut weld which made it extremely difficult to remove and reinstall the front tank bolt.

The Camel ADV lobe protectors were easy to install and use the same mounting points as the stock plastic covers.
