Not very easy to install as anticipated from install video. Hopefully they update their product with welded nuts. The press threads slipped out and made things very difficult.
Is not directly compatible with OEM Aprilia center stand, but I made it work. I cut two slots in the plate to make room for the stand to travel. There is no support being altered so strength is not reduced. If you were to take a hit right in that area, it wouldn’t be able to compress anyway because the center stand bracket is right there. They wouldn’t tell me if they thought it might work even with modifications, so I decided to take a chance. Leaving a review in case anybody else is curious.

I needed a skid plate that would cover the bottom of my bike to prevent rocks from breaking the kickstand sensor. The Camel guard worked covered it perfectly and protected the bike on the SE BDR. The skid plate is a heavy duty product and instills confidence on a long rocky and gravel roads. Good customer service and ships quickly. All my future bikes will have a Camel skid plate.

I ordered this for my 2023 Aprilia Tuareg. I already had the Givi crash guards installed, so was a little limited in which skid plates would fit. I am thoroughly impressed by the quality, engineering, parts and service of this product. It is a very sturdy skid plate. Instruction video is excellent. The various sized spaces were very useful. I can confirm to whomever need to know that it works well with the Givi crash bars on the Aprilia Tuareg with no mods.

This thing has saved my Tuareg's bacon many times on rocky and rutted trails. It has absorbed some serious punishment--and has many scars to prove it. It also functions as a kind of lower crash bar and has saved my clutch cover from damage.

Really highly recommended. Will equip any bike I buy with Camel skid plates in the future.

I've had the Tuareg a few years now and I've run through a number of products that are more off road oriented. I've ridden dirt for the better part of 30 years so I find myself beating on my machines outside the garage and taking care of them inside. The right protection on the former can make the latter far easier.

Ordering and Installation: The Camel ADV Gut Guard is a quality product that's well thought out, well produced, and well supported by the people behind it's design. Ordering was easy. The team was responsive to my request about the Akro header even though they were unsure of fitment. Assembly upon arrival was straightforward (leverage their videos people), the guard fit snugly over the Akro header without issue, and seamlessly integrated with the Heed upper bars (lower bars are a no-go though).

Trail testing: Long story short, down in central Texas most of our trails are rocky and rutty and the guard handled it all without issue. Like I mentioned, I tend to beat on things in the pursuit of fun so this thing gets to ride rocks, logs, and anything else I don't have the talent to negotiate without some contact and it's been flawless. The optional UHMW liner is a no brainer if you're going to be dragging the sump across anything and it's held true.

Camel ADV is one of my favorite ADV companies because you get to see the people behind the products and the demanding testing they put things through on their off time. They're responsive to questions and ultimately seem to enjoy the work that they do. 10/10 will purchase from them again when the time comes. I hope they continue developing new products for the Tuareg 660 line.
