T7 1 Finger Clutch Screw-up
I messed up with the 700 Tenere 1 Finger Clutch kit. I want to make sure you are getting the best parts possible, "pretty good" isn't good enough.
I'm delaying shipping of the T7 1 Finger Clutch kits until the new cable guides complete. Moving forward, the kit will only be available with the new guide plate.
700 Tenere Camel Tank Intro
Since the 700 Tenere was officially announced in late 2017, it’s created quite a stir in the adventure bike community. Boasting a great list of features and specs this bike seems ready to conquer the ADV world! However, as the saying goes, “When you’re exploring, you can never have too much water unless you’re drowning or enough gas unless you’re on fire!”. We can’t help you with the water but we definitely can with the fuel. Placed on the left side of the bike, opposite of the exhaust will sit your Camel Tank. Occupying otherwise unused space, the tank adds 5 Litres (1.3 gal) of extra fuel to your capacity for a total of 21 litres. That's an additional 80-120...
T7 & 790 ADV R at the Enduro X track
Getting some late season riding in at the local Enduro X track. It was the first time out with the SkyDio 2 drone.
Camel ADV T7 High Exhaust
There are so many things to love about the Yamaha 700 Tenere! Unfortunately, the exhaust is a bit of a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde situation. It looks and sounds amazing but it has a dark side. It's located low and wide and is mounted on a very long exhaust hanger that's welded to the subframe. When the bike is dropped on the right side, the mount can be bent which allows the muffler to be pushed into the side of the swingarm. If it is not bent back before being ridden, the aluminum swing arm gets chewed up by the steel muffler (see photo below). Adding insult to injury, if you bend the hanger enough times, it can crack...
KTM 1290 Super Adventure Crash
We were riding late in the season with temperatures right at freezing. Ernesto hit an icy patch and the tires slid out. On the way down, the footpeg hooked a rock. He got tossed and it seemed like he had dislocated his shoulder but he just had some scrapes and bruises.
KTM 790 ADV-R Loop Out on Hill Climb
Jaden rides a T7 but he wanted to try my 790 on a steep hill climb in BC. He got about 75% up it then looped it out. The hill is quite loose at the bottom then firms up the higher you get you're WOT and spinning like crazy to keep moving then all the sudden there's traction. I just about did the same thing on the T7 on the same hill. https://youtu.be/KnKuoHbLAkk
Check your own engine codes! Motorcycle Diagnostic Scanner OBD2 Adaptor
I was very happy to have stumbled across these cool OBD 2 adaptor cords for motorcycles! I had no idea that they used the same standard OBD2 protocols that modern automobiles do. Use this conversion cable to plug a common ODB-II scanner into you bike to read and clear engine codes as well as view live data streams for vital engine information, very cool!
Here are a few links to adaptor cables. Definitely check to make sure that they will work for your specific bike but the list should get you pointed in the right direction. BMW: https://www.amazon.com/AuraTech-10pin...

Yamaha T7s in the Rock Garden - Offroad at the EnduroX park
Jaden and I were trying to cram as much riding into the last days of the season. We hit the Enduro-X track at WildRose MX facility. This was the site of the RedBull Rocks and Logs event for a few years.
There are two rock gardens on the track. The smaller/lower one has a nice climb up at the end and the upper has some nasty bits. It has a rubber bladder under it and was filled with water for the event.
We have a bunch of video of the rest of the course that we'll use for another video when we have time to get the editing completed.
790 ADV R Hill Climb Fail
A steep hill climb at Lake Koocanusa. A lack of commitment at the bottom meant I didn't make to the top.
Camel ADV's New Shop!
After 7yrs, we finally have proper commercial space to work out of. We've now got a dedicated welding/fab bay and a R&D "Lab". No more tripping over things in a way too small space for our needs!
