Kirk I love the concept and that it’s lightweight aluminum however, the first time I needed to use it, it broke when using it with a ratchet. Unless mine was a flawed case I would only recommend using it with a box style wrench. Fortunately mine is still usable, just not with a ratchet.
Hey Kirk,
Thanks for the review. There's nothing flawed with your socket. The socket is 6061 aluminum so it's lightweight for trail use. There isn't much material left on the 17mm end once the 3/8' square drive is machined in which the reason for the note on the product page:
'Max torque 70ft/lbs. Not suitable for use with impact tools!'
For use over 70lb-ft, a 17mm hex socket over the end of the tool is a good idea as it compresses the material rather that square drive forcing things apart.
